![]() I was not too keen on buying a set of winter tyres for it, so i offered to pay 6k€ in advance if he was prepared to store the car a couple of months for me, until the weather had warmed up. This was at the end of January, and the problem was the roads were still full of snow and ice, and the car had no winter tyres as it had never been driven between October and April during it's lifetime. The owner said yes and asked when i'll come and buy the car. I didn't want to let the car slip through my fingers, so i offered the seller 2k€ over the price the other guy was willing to pay. I bombed the guy who was selling it with emails for a week, until he told me the car has found a buyer already. I had a look at a couple of examples over here in Finland, but neither were up to my standards, and even the most shabby examples were well over 30k euros over here.įortunately i speak Swedish as my second native language, so i started browsing Swedish used car sites and soon found a pretty good looking example that was for sale over in Malmö. Low kilometres was also a requirement, and a immaculate paintjob. ![]() What i wanted was a Ultimate green RS that preferably already had the basic mods done (map, intercooler, plenum, injectors, exhaust). This of course means that used cars are also really valuable. The clever thing to do would have been to pay off my student loan or put the money towards a house/apartment, but sod that, i had to have one of these :laughing:Ĭars are crazy expensive in Finland, basically a car that costs 20k euros in Germany of 20k pounds in the UK is double that over here. After a lot of begging the dealer finally said yes, and i was hooked instantly.Īt the beginning of the year i realized i had saved up quite a good amount of money. I had always wanted a mk2 RS though, i remember begging my local dealer for a test drive back in 2009 when they came out and i was 19. ![]() Took me to work in -20c and blasted around my local track in the summer heat without any problems. In case you hadn't guessed. My previous car was a mint mk2 PFL Focus ST, great car and never let me down ever. While there's more lag and a little less willingness to rev than the latest hot hatch turbos, the mid-range feels super strong (thank the extra 500cc over most hot hatches for that) and the noise is fantastic. Drop 305hp and 324lb ft in a FWD hot hatch now and it would be competitive back then it must have felt ballistic. The range of modifications from the ST to RS was extensive, the latter benefitting from new con-rods, pistons and crank on top of the usual work around the turbo and exhaust. You would not believe this car has 60, 000 miles due to the stunning condition. This Focus RS really need to be seen to be appreciated. This car is in extremely good condition throughout with lux pack 1 and 2. Any lingering regrets that it didn’t have four-wheel drive were soon blown away by the character and delivery of the turbocharged five-cylinder engine and a chassis that did a remarkably fine job of channelling those rampaging horses through the front axle. Here was a fast Ford with the visual clout to put many mid-engined sports cars in the shade. It wasn’t just the headline output figures of 300bhp and 324lb ft. It has had its major 10 year service last year including cambelt and water pump, it has been driven little to none since then.įew hatchbacks have made a bigger impact than the second Ford Focus RS did when it burst into our world in January 2009. We have had this work carried out in our ownership and has been fitted professionally. ![]() It has had a number of tasteful upgrades including a green airtec plenum, msd remap to 375 BHP with kms sports cat and kms thunderstorm exhaust, lowering springs all round, wheels painted gloss black, airtec BOV and a helix paddle clutch and flywheel. This car is in extremely good condition throughout. It has only covered 62, 306 miles from new and only has one previous owner. This lovely mk2 focus RS with lux pack 1 and 2 is now for sale with us and in lovely condition. ![]()
